# Similarweb vs Pathmatics by Sensor Tower vs MediaRadar for competitive intelligence: which gives the most actionable view of competitor spend?

Hi G2 community! I am looking for honest input on Digital Advertising Intelligence software. These three platforms all claim to surface competitor spend, but with meaningfully different data sources, methodologies, and intended users. The spend data question is where the differences matter most, because all three come with caveats.

Similarweb: provides competitive spend intelligence through estimated traffic acquisition data, showing where competitors are buying display and search traffic, at what estimated volume, and through which channels, rather than rate-card-based spend figures. The AI traffic insights layer now adds visibility into how AI search is affecting competitor traffic.

Pathmatics by Sensor Tower: Provides direct visibility into the actual creative assets competitors are running across display, social, video, mobile, and YouTube, the competitor's ad, the publisher it ran on, the estimated impressions and spend behind it, and the time period it was active.

MediaRadar: Is primarily used by media sellers and publishing teams to understand where advertisers are spending across TV, print, digital, and out-of-home, giving sales teams the context needed to pitch a specific brand on why they should be spending more in a channel they are underweighting. The tearsheets feature pulls actual ads running in competitor publications, and the TV spend data is specifically credited as more accurate than other platforms.

Which data type creates the most actionable competitive intelligence for your team: seeing competitor creative and placement strategy, understanding which channels a competitor is weighting, or benchmarking your own performance against category peers?

For us the creative and placement view from Pathmatics ended up being more actionable than spend estimates alone because it told us what to test, not just how much a competitor was spending.
